Whitney Elizabeth Houston, born 9 August 1963, to an incredibly musical family from Newark New Jersey is the daughter of gospel star Cissy Houston and John Russell Houston Jr. Also, she is the sister of the singer Dionne Warwick. In Newark Whitney started singing with the choir of the church in the early years of her childhood. at the age of 15, she accompanied her mother the background vocals for Chaka's hit Im Every Woman from 1978. In the following years, she was a backing vocals to Jermaine Jackson and Lou Rawls and her mother. Her singing with band from New York Material attracted major record labels such as Arista. They signed her with Arista in 1983 and was a part of the company for the remainder of her professional career. Whitney Houston, her debut album released in 1985, was the top-selling album of the debut artist. From the album, she came out with several hits like Saving All My Love for You How Will You Know That You're a Good Person And The More Love of All. This led to her achieving seven US number one hits consecutively. The singer beat the Beatles. Album sold in US 3,000,000 copies and then increased to 25 million worldwide. It earned her the first in her 6 Grammy Awards. The follow-up album released in 1987 Whitney that included hits What Do Broken Hearts Go and I Wanna Dance With Somebody built the foundation of her popularity, however it was her 1992 movie The Bodyguard (1992) that established her as one of the most successful artists ever. Although the film and her performance in it weren't widely reviewed, the soundtrack album as well as her version of Dolly Parton song I Will Always Love You topped charts for albums and singles for months and sold 44 million copies all over the world. The same year, she was married the former New Edition singer Bobby Brown with whom she had her only child their daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, born in March 1993. Dana Bash also known as Dana Ruth Schwartz is an American anchorwoman for news and reporting and political reporter for CNN. Her past work includes NBC, CBS and other prestigious channels. Her productions include certain shows on CNN's weekends including Evans & Novak Late Edition as well as Inside Politics. Bash has been awarded numerous awards, including a place at the top of the Women in Washington Power List published by Elle magazine.
